Latest news June 18, 2006 Last god morgon from Eskilstuna. Picture; Lots of friends swinging on tables and chairs. What a party! 9.45 Good morning to the world. Everything is ready for the prize ceremony. Hope the winners too, as some had a "bit of a tough night".
Yes the closing ceremony was a real PARTY! Very well organized and great fun. As said tables were made beautifully and 568 people joined in. Food was good, warm and enough!
While having our dinner, we listened to absolutey fantastic music from John B with his fiddle! An Aussie singing his songs and playing his "fiddle" with SUCH enthousiasm, that he touched everybody in the heart. Wow, he got a lot of people ON the tables dancing and clapping. He sang for about an hour without delay and we all enjoyed every minute of it!
After that Robert said thank you to the stewards , jury members , team captains and to his staff . We all got a beautifil knife including bottle opener, made in Eskilstuna. THANKS!
The last day prizes were given to yesterday's winners and some special prizes , as the Kees Musters Speed Award, who to my great pleasure was won by John Coutts.
"WE DID IT" is what Robert and Sakka shouted , and YES ....THEY DID IT!!!!
The were honnored with some kind of "medal" for their huge job involving 3 YEARS of their lives!!!!
At 10.30 pm. it was more or less over and pilots and crews found each other out side and inside, as some of the young Dutchies "organized" a dancing floor, put the disco music on again and we all danced, till the early morning, though I went home at 12.30 as "the old knees were soar " from dancing on concrete.
After that they moved to the club house and some "missed "a night, but still looked fresh. Don't know how they do that.
Half an hour to go now for the prize giving and I will be back one more time to let you share the last part of these comps; The prize giving! This is "the" moment for the pilots and a GREAT moment for the winners , runner up's and the third prize winners, not to forget those who will receive a diploma. To see who was the best, that's what it is all about!
