Picture: The grid photographed this morning by competition leader and "Sniffer" for the day, Robert Danewid.
17.00
First 2 finishers are back. Speed finish for Wolfgang Janowitch [WO]and direct landing for Werner Amann [WG] , both from Austria and flying in 18 m. Both early starters today for their AAT from 3 hours and 45 minutes!! 3 Outlandings till now. VW, SI and T1.
17.10 More finishers as PL, 71, SV, and CX arrived back home.133 is 2 k out! One pilot is struggling to reach the field ,we can see him thermalling to make enough height to make it home. Stand by!!
The wind is weak and conditions look good to make it safely home!
17.35 More landings and more finishes and some "scaring low ones", but.. with a safe direct landing from TL and EP. YYY made a speed finish and had height enough!
More and more to come now , so look for results on the page. EU, 210, 250, S9, LOT, MP, 8T, EI , 29 all of them are here!
17.45 First open class glider arrived back from his AAT with AF Laurent Aboulin arriving at 17.45. HM was 10 k out at that moment.
More outlandings in between too. Gliders EC, H1, VG, NV, 80 and SEI can be sadly enough added to the list. Some only 10 k out!!!
18.00 Lot's and lot's of great looking lenties to the W. , but at this time, as the Yougo- slavs used to say; " For total no use"! Pilots still coming in;U2, 5A, JV, FE, VC, AX, C2, LK.
In 18 m. topper Phil Jones flew 398 km in 4 hours and 7 minutes , with a speed of 96.9 km.
In open class Michael Sommer flew 452 km with a speed of 108.4 km/h. and needed 4 hours and 10 minutes.
In 15 m. still only 2 outlandings , not yet finishers.
In st. Class UK pilot Leigh wells did very well again till now . He flew with a speed of 89.2 km/h. over the 344.4 km.
Still lots of pilots to arrive. Mixed feelings about the flight. Will come back with that in the evening shift tonight. Still enough happening NOW.
18.45 Still a few to arrive back home mostly from 15 m. class and one just landed straight in;VO.
It looks like our Belgium friend Andre-Emmanuel Litt had a good day with a possible win at this stage.
Pilots are downloading their flight recorders and most of them are in good mood. With the longer tasks, they also hoped for better weather but it was again, not an easy day. They look with great interest to the scores and overall results.
Some loose , some win ! But that's what it 's all about! Tomorrow is another day!
Only 1 pilot to " maybe" come home, from open class! All others are counted for!
Will be back with some comments from pilots in the Evening Shift! CU then Ritz>
