Latest news June 15, 2006 v Pos shows good heights! Picture: Roland Stuck gives an explanation about pilots starting and flying with the v Pos- tracking -system . 14.15 Just had a look at v pos and the 15 m. boys show good height; around 1300 to go over the start line and on track but still close by, some reach 1500.
More and more guests arrive and it is getting busier and busier here!!Great fun!!! Tilo Holighaus, from Schempp Hirth, Wilhelm Dirks and Roelant from DG Flugzeugbau, Katja, webmaster from the EC in Finland in 2005, Peter Ryder , President of the Jury in 2005 in Finland etc. They all want to be part of the last couple of days of the last multi class FAI World Comps here in Eskilstuna. And what great comps they are, with already 8 days and still 2 more possible days to go!!!!
Just even got the best regards from the air from Danish airline captain Ole, who is on duty and flies over our field. He spoke to our "new" female tow pilot , who stays and flies only for 2 days. During his holidays Ole flies with us in Tocumwal [Australia]. Hi Ole!!
Would like to advise you, while waiting, to look at the photographs from ALL people who have send the most wonderfull pictures to our photo album, but today I would like to mention Kai Monkkonen from Finland. Some of his earlier pictures are in Leo's book! Great pictures now again on our site, put on by Pierre! Thanks !!
14.45 At this time Gulyas [V8] and Centka [BB] are the leaders in 15 m. class on vPos. They just turned the 2d point and fly at 1170 m. with a speed of 200 km. p/h. to the next one. They have 6 today!
Amzing is n't it!? Also great that Roland takes the time to explain it to people who do not know the system well. More and more people join in , there is a real crowd and the restaurant is full now!!! Long live v POS. I love it, so do a lot of the readers, I heard!
15.30 Nearly 1 hour difference in start times for 15 m. class .Also nearly 1 hour in 18 m. class for an AAT task. Only 15 minutes difference in St class and open class has a difference of 22 minutes for their AAT task.
Glider K 7 did not start. After his last outlanding his glider had some minor damage and Argentinian pilot Mauricio Delfabro, decided to bring the glider back to its owner and prepare for his trip home. So we had 115 pilots starting today.
16.00 vPos is still going strong, though the one in Gulyas' glider gave up. Centka is going like a rocket and passed the Italian pilots Giorgo and Stefano, who started 3 minutes later .
We have still cirrus over the field here and blue skies. To the W. a few good looking cu's and now we can also see to the N. some, or perhaps the announced "odd" cumulus cloud[s].
16.45 vPos showed that Janus [BB]was passed by Stefano [VS] again and now after coming back from "powdering my nose" as Baldrick [crew N1] calls it , Gilles Navas from France was in the lead again.
Who is going to win!!?? Not long anymore and we will see the first finishes as the first starter in 18 m. class should be back in 5 minutes!
For finishes we go to the next article again Ritz>
