Latest news June 12, 2006 13.10; Tuggies start up their engines, now! Picture; Swedish pilots Borje Eriksson and Mikael Engstrom are slowly climbing to the top in 15 m. class. They are 4 and 3 in the overall results at the moment. 13.10 We are in for ACTION NOW. First launch for 18 m. class in 5 minutes. Standby! Tuggies have started their engines and are on the grid now.

It is 28.9 dgr. in the shade and the release height for pilots is 700 m. It looks at this stage, they are not really going higher then that.

14.00 launches for st. class are in progres NOW!!
There are 2 gaggles flying up to the W. and they are slowly climbing now. So St .class started directly after 15 m.
St. class start line opens at 14.50.
14.20 open class launches in progres NOW!! Still only 2 big gaggles. Glider SEI was flying all by himself at 500 m. over the field, but found a weak climb. Wind from the SW is getting a bit stonger . Still high cirrus with blue holes and the temperature is 29.4 dgr. in the shade at the moment.
Open class start line opens at 15.04. Open class glider DM "lost his tow pilot", with other words,"threw his ballast out." . The polar bear is gone!
A pretty difficult looking day, but you never know here in Sweden, it can change quickly. Will keep you updated about weather and more.
15.00 Competition day 6 is a fact! All gliders are up and flying and start times come in.
Look for start times at the result page. It looks like nobody starts early or can start early, as only 6 arrived here with the start notes at this time.
15.25 Just saw on v Pos [with 15 minutes delay] that pilots in 18 m. class are struggling between 350 and 600 m. close by, but further to the first turn point Smedjebacken , about 88 k out, they are at 800 m. plus. Still not high , but hopefully they find more lift during the day. Temperature here is now: 31 dgr. but the thermometer is hanging a bit more in the sun now.

16.15 Hear messages as ;" I love to be a pilot, but not on a day like this". Though at v Pos I saw that pilots are now at 1750 m. close to the first turn point.This looks like a VERY interesting day!

And ...yes the first crews are on their way to pick up their pilots and good pilots too: Y4and GP both from,Germany. And CG and RO all in st.class!
