Outlandings and ...fast pilots! 134.6 km/h
Picture; 12 tuggies go to the grid at 05.
16.30 While we hear reports from fast flying pilots, we also have 3 outlandings in 15 m. class. A bit of a weird day. It looks fantastic here. We expect the first gliders back soon.

16.35 First 18 m. gliders have just finished! About 10 pilots are back and still a few are flying in now. Direct landings but also speed landings! Under them; MO,M,YF,210, 29,99,WO and XT. Look for scores at the results page! It goes quick!
Fastest pilot till now is, Ake Petterson, who flew with a speed of 131.2 km.over 207 km. But he might not even be the fastest pilot!!

16.10 It was quiet for a moment. No gliders came in. The wind has changed to the SW and dark clouds have appeared to the NW. It looks like the 18 m. class had the best conditions and task. I see Italian, South African and Lithuanian cars with trailers drive off the field. It will be difficult for 15 m. st. class and open class!

17.30 3 Open class gliders just arrived back....but did not finish. They came "under engine"! N1,C2 and QM.

18.00 No other gliders then 18 m. class , arrived back home till now. We are still waiting for 2 in that class, but Phil Jones from The UK had a tremendous good day in his Ventus 2 cxT and a fantastic speed over the 207 km.;134.6 km/h Great effort Phil! Good second place was for Japanese pilot Mac Ichikawa [127.1km/h]and Hadriaan van Nes [124.4 km/h] from the Netherlands was very good too.
Overall results after 3 days:
1.Roland Termaat XT 2293
2.Wolfgang Janowitsch WO 2292
3.Luciano Avanzini 3AB 2261

Only 1 point difference between the number 1 and 2 and because it was a short task, the day was devaluated and the winner got "only" 415 points for his efforts, with still 2 pilots to arrive and at this moment 5 out landings.

We saw the ETA and ETA biter [ASW 22DB] land at the field here and as so many came back under engine , we nearly missed out that they really finished. So 2 gliders in open class made it actually IN. Great effort! And...also Swedish pilot Goran Ax made it back home! The 2 French pilots just arrived home too, so did the Norwegian pilot. No big speed ,but to come home is important . And even though a lot in open class out landed /came back with their engines, you heard from pilots: "Thanks, it was a nice task".

18.45 Great effort and most probably outstanding patience made MP Mariusz Pozniak land here for St. class. With a speed of 72.2 km/h., he is till now the only one who arrived back at 18.15.

Same compliments to glider AA with Erik Dossing Jensen from Denmark. With a speed of 58.1 km/h. he made it home.
In EACH CLASS we have a "finisher" now.

Lots of outlandings but most are not too far away. That dark cloud to the NW killed their aspirations. Look for results and overall results on the WGC site under tasks and results.
