Latest news June 5, 2006 OSTIV Training and Safety Panel The OSTIV Training and Safety Panel (TSP) began it´s meeting at this XXVIII OSTIV Congress with 15 in attendence from 9 countries. The first day´s discussion included national accident data from each country. Next an excellent presentation given by Hugh Browning covered an analysis of gliding accidents in UK. Canada´s new National Safety Management System was presented by TSP Chairman in Ian Oldaker. Finally the USA´s Soaring Safety Foundation Chairman, Rich Carlson, presented its 2006 Accident Reduction Program for SSA. There followed a discussion of what major hazards and risks to safety were identified from all the day´s presentations, including suggested improvements for Safety Programs and Training Methods.
