Latest news June 18, 2006 It's over and out! CU in Lusse/Rieti 12.30 The FAI flag has been given to Leonardo Brigliadori and Rainer Wienzek, as Italy [ club, st. and world class] and Germany [open, 15 and 18 m. class] are the next countries to organize the World comps. We have said good bye , kissed and hugged, waved till we had soar arms and now it feels empty and a little tear shines in some eyes.
The prizes have been given and happy pilots left with medals , cup's and diploma's.
It was a worthy farewell and guests and pilots have soar hands from clapping. Roland Stuck closed the 29th FAI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS ;the last multi class event!
In st. class 10 pilots received the diploma. In 15 m. 8 , in 18 m. 10 and in open 7 .
Lots of great pictures have been made. They will be put on the photo album site today.
Thomas Rubaj got the prize for the longest distance and all 4 pilots who won in their class, are not only invited by Pierre de Broqueville as guests of his family and to fly in the Pyrenees, also the South African TC Caroll invited the 4 pilots to come to South Africa and fly with them. So happy flying for Leigh, Michael, Janusz and Phil and we wish them in both places A GREAT TIME!
The Cup for the best nation flying here goes , and that is no surprise, to the UK team.
We will show the winners in the next articles but this is the very last ARTICLE.
